Horse betting is a popular pastime among the world’s wealthiest people, and it is also common knowledge that the industry is worth a million dollars. People all around the globe would bet on some of the greatest and most famous horses based only on their winning streak notoriety or just because they have too much money to know what to do with. The winning horse isn’t always a winning bet if you haven’t bet on it, which is the flipside where people may easily lose tens of thousands of dollars or even millions of dollars. This is the terrible part, but those royal gamblers should have known what they were in for and should have expected it, win or lose.
Slew from Seattle
As a thoroughbred horse, Slew was recognized in the 1970s as a born winner, and boy, oh boy, did he live up to his promise. Amazingly, a horse can survive to be 28 years old, considering how long it can live. He lived longer than some humans, but it doesn’t make him any better; his name will live on in the realm of horse racing as a legend. Since his death, many horses have been trained and bred because of the influence of his splendor. In the history of thoroughbred racing, Seattle Slew is without a doubt the greatest thoroughbred ever to compete on the track.
Zenyatta
Stallion-like female horses deserve the same respect as their male counterparts, but they must be treated with the utmost care. Known as “The Queen of Racehorses,” Zenyatta is a four-time Triple Crown winner. As far as racehorses are concerned, she most certainly has the spirit of some famous human “godmother” that we know; who do you think of when you think of “godmother”?? In 2010, Zenyatta was named Race Horse of the Year for her ability to carry more weight than any other horse, male or female, in the year’s major races. In her remaining retirement years, the Queen relishes being a mother to the foals she has named after her.
Ruffian
You can’t expect to walk away from a Ruffian brawl with a clean slated getaway. Racehorse Ruffian is a legend in her own right; she’s an American racehorse legend who began her career during an exciting time when horse racing attracted the interest of many money-spinning investors from all over the world.
When she was at the top of the sport’s career, Horse Racing turned out to be one of the saddest times in the history of the sport, as she began to lose her trademark stride.
